Social media has become one of the most eye-catching platform for marketers. It is always a desire for marketers to understand what people in the market are talking about a brand, a company or a product. However, monitoring the huge and non-stop social media platforms is extremely difficult, and resources are always limited. Are there tools available that can help us to listen to the social media market?
Prof. Eric Ngai of PolyU has worked with both the academic and the industry, and designed a Business Intelligence in Social Media (BiiSM) System, combining different technologies including Natural Language Processing (NLP) engine, web-crawling technology, sentimental analysis, and big data to deliver Business Intelligence in Social Media. Using the system, users is capable of listening, monitoring and analyzing the ever-changing social media platforms.
As professional marketers, we need to learn how to utilize social networks and how to manipulate the necessary tools to achieve our business objectives.
Through this seminar, we hope to bring to our participants the knowledge how we can make better use of social network platforms by understanding the tools that help us to manage the big data to help us grow our business, develop new opportunities and understand the market more realistically.
